As a courtesy, we will file claims to those plans with which we have a contracted agreement. If, however, your insurance company does not pay the claim with in a reasonable amount of time, we will look to you for payment.

As we all aware, health insurance has become very complicated. Dr T's Pediatrics currently has contract with many different companies with many different plans. The options and coverage vary so considerably and are so numerous that we cannot keep track of the details of all the plans. We urge you to become familiar with your insurance so that you understand its rules, coverage and limitations. All insurance companies have time limits for billing. If the information that we use for billing comes directly from your insurance company with your child's insurance card, we have more success in meeting filing limits and avoid having to transfer claims to you. It is the policy of the office to turn accounts with balances overdue for 90 days or more to a collection agency. We would prefer not to take this course of action as it may adversely affect your ability to obtain credit in the future.
Following tips will help you to avoid common mistakes parents make:
call you insurance company soon after baby is born. Add you baby to your policy effective baby's date of birth. Designate Dr. Arkadiy Takhalov as your baby's PCP (primary care provider) effective baby's birth date. Write down the name of the representative you spoke with and note the date of conversation. The representative might give you an ID number. As soon as you receive the child's card please verify the information on the card. Make a copy of both sides, put your child's name and date of birth on the copy and mail it to us.
Please notify us of any insurance changes.
Most insurance companies send an explanation of benefits (EOB) to you about claims they are or are not paying. If you do not understand it or have any questions call your insurance company as soon as possible.
We hope this tips will facilitate the billing and help to avoid common mistakes.
